Superb Antique 19th C. French Cast Brass Rococo Style Fireplace Fender

About the Item

Magnificent Antique French Rococo style 19th century very heavy CAST BRASS Fireplace Fender. Please note the pierced "lattice" design as well as the shells throughout which are crisply made and whose design is still incredibly clean and brilliant. There is some evidence that this fender, in its day "may" have been able to be made shorter, but now it appears to be "fixed" at its widest point. (We did not want to experiment with the original screws due to the fact that they are antique and we didn't want to undo something which might be difficult to re-assemble.) It is the highest form of French Rococo with extraordinary detail and in superb, age-appropriate condition.
