A very fine quality period Louis Philippe fireplace in Belgian Black marble. The shaped jambs carved lion's feet to base, surmounted by carved scrolls with acanthus leaves to front and scrolls above. The frieze with fluting throughout, with moulded shelf above. French, circa 1840. An unusual design in an increasingly rare marble.
