About the Item

An Italian period Rococo late 18th century lavabo with dolphin motif, pewter sink and reservoir, mounted on a wooden stand. This Italian lavabo features an exquisite carved wooden frame, accented in the crest with a pierced shell carving. Two elegant acanthus leaves, attached to round medallions, flank this central motif. The pewter reservoir is delicately adorned in its upper section with a dolphin, depicted in the typical 18th century manner. The detached pewter sink rests on the wooden frame, raised on four gracefully curved legs. The lighter metallic hue of the pewter fixtures contrasts beautifully with the darker hue of the wooden frame, making this Italian 1780s lavabo a charming decorative accent for any home.
