A Grand Carved Limestone 2-Spout Italian Villa Wall Fountain with Arched Basin
About the Item
This beautiful two-spout wall fountain was hand-carved in Italy from 68 pieces of limestone. The grand fountain has meticulous details, highlighted by the large, segmented shell that comprises six of the back wall stones.
Three levels of stone make up the arching, semi-circular basin, with the middle tier indented from the stones set above and below. Behind the basin is a wall of stones roughly 13 feet wide and topped with a thick, rolled molding. Above the molding is a gently sloping back wall adorned with thick molding. Two springer stones (the terminus of an arch) have been carved into scrolls in the Vitruvian style. The keystone above the shell motif is topped with a conical finial. In between the shell and the basin is a raised rectangle with canted corners which surrounds two carved, circular apertures that house the iron spouts.
The detail and planning that went into the creation of this Italian villa wall fountain is stunning. It took a master stone carver great vision and skill to carve this fountain. Our two-spout wall fountain with an arched basin would make a wonderful addition to any exterior landscape, such as a rose garden or courtyard.

The fountain originally was with a dug out fountain basin in the ground, with a coping stone surround, then decades later they added two stone basins to it , to make it easy for the daily use at the time. then when we purchase it, we decided to take it back to the original design, of a center column with crown and the original carved urn that holds the crown in place with the right amount of weight. and we removed the basin, and we left the coping. so when you install it, you create the basin in the ground and you will have the coping to mount all around.
