About the Item
An antique Napoleon III style, French terra cotta center piece fountain head featuring three cherubs sitting on a large dolphin or dauphin grotesque in different positions, in good condition. The cherubs are leaning against the large, detailed fish tail on a round base. The dolphin has a short pipe to spit water. The original pedestal is adorned with a swag in a chain décor and a centered bow. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa late 19th Century, Prov. Northern France.
