Complete Stainless Steel Patio Suite by Van Keppel Green with Twelve Pieces

About the Item

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to restore this incredible Van Keppel Green patio set. Comprised of twelve (12) pieces in total, which include a three-seat sofa, two lounge chairs, four adjustable chaise lounges, four side tables and a coffee table. Made in California with marine-grade stainless steel, each piece is very hefty - you can feel the quality. This set definitely needs some love but will be incredible once completed. And it's quite simple to do - in fact we really wanted to do it ourselves but this is from a consignor client of ours that we agreed to help, so we not able to restore it ourselves but can assist in the process if you would like, contact us for a quote. This set will need reupholstery - we suggest an outdoor fabric, perhaps a striped color fabric? Since the cushions are removable and square this is very simple and inexpensive to reupholster. The stone table tops should be replaced as they all have staining and chips, some have cracks. The tops can be replaced with glass tops for very cheap or for stone tops such as granite, travertine or marble. The stainless steel frames are in good overall condition but do have some patina from outdoors use over time and polishing would be advised as well. This set was produced in the 2000's by Modernica who holds the license on the 400 series by VKG. To purchase this entire set brand new it would cost over $22,000 for this configuration. With reupholstery, polishing and new tops for the tables, you will be far under this amount and save on the elongated lead times that we are facing these days. From Modernica's website: Van Keppel-Green designed ‘Series 400’ in 1958 and produced the series until 1970. ‘Series 400’ is prominently displayed in Julius Shulman’s iconic photograph of Pierre Koenig’s Case Study House #22. Modernica revitalized the previously unavailable ‘Series 400’ design and began production in 1999. With a commitment to authenticity, Modernica produces the series to the original design specifications. Modernica's Case Study® Furniture series is built with marine-grade stainless steel. MEASUREMENTS: Lounge Chairs (2): H 26.5" x W 30" x D 36.25" Seat Height: 14.5" / Seat Depth: 21" / Arm Height: 19.5" Sofa (1): H 26.5" x W 78" x D 36.25" Seat Height: 14.5" / Seat Depth: 21" / Arm Height: 19.5" Chaise Lounge (4): H 10" to 30" (adjustable) x W 31" x D 79" Seat Height: 10" Side Table (4): H 10.25" x W 20" x D 20" Coffee Table (1): H 14" x W 50" x D 26" CONDITION: Stainless steel frames are in good vintage condition with light patina. Would benefit from cleaning and polishing, and since it is stainless steel it should clean up quite well. The small plastic feet caps can either be replaced or used without, some are missing and some are broken. All fabric cushions have rips, tears and staining and should be reupholstered. All stone tops have stains, chips, scratches and minor to major cracks and should be replaced with either new glass tops or new stone tops, slatted wood can also be another option.
