Pair 19th Century English Cast Iron Garden Benches

About the Item

This is an extraordinary pair of Victorian cast iron benches in a fern pattern. The iron casting is of the highest level of artistry and craftsmanship. The front supports are in the form of winged griffins and the back legs seem to be scrolling vines. The benches have had several coats of paint which has acquired a deep natural and desirable patina; they have only minimal indications of rust. Both benches are solid and very heavy. I would not restrict their use to garden settings as they would make beautiful entry or pared dining room pieces.

Condition:
