17th Century Venetian Wellhead
About the Item
In 1797 the Venetian government passed a law requiring that all troughs in wellhead bases be kept clean and full for dogs and cats.

- Condition:Lichening. Old loss and repair to one corner repaired. Large chip to underneath of same corner reattached. Metal remnants (from the original lid) in rim. Stable horizontal crack through center section. Structurally sound; overall condition good.
