1940s Wood Himachal Pot

About the Item

1920s Wood Himachal Pot This seemingly simple wooden vase is a design object of infinite beauty and elegance that can be placed in either an antique or a modern or contemporary setting. They are Indian artefacts from the Himachal Pradesh region and have been skilfully crafted from a single piece of neem wood that gives these beautiful vases their characteristic grooves. These vases are very useful and can hold kitchen utensils, brushes, dried flowers and more, or they can be used as decorative sculptural objects. The possibilities are endless. This irresistible handcrafted wooden vessel with its majestic shape possesses both a practical function in everyday life and a ceremonial function for great occasions. A useful object that was used daily in most families in the Kulu valley in Himachal Pradesh. As with all handmade items, variations can occur. Small chips, cracks, holes in the bottom and colour variations are qualities of the vintage condition of the vase and are not considered defects. Each one is different from the other.
This artwork, never before on the market, comes from an important European private collection. Every item of our Gallery, upon request, is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Sabrina Egidi official Expert in Italian furniture for the Chamber of Commerce of Rome and for the Rome Civil Courts.

Tall French Sculptural Iron Abstract Art Piece, circa 1930s-1940s
Located in Atlanta, GA
A tall French sculptural iron art piece in a motif of rings from the 1930s-1940s. This unique sculpture from France, standing at approximately 6.6 feet in height, has a playful abstract vertical form made up of a series of rings, with circles clustering together making ball-like formations at the top and lower ends, and supported with a larger ring-shaped base. Within the center of this column-like structure, more circular rings are set in horizontal fashion, appearing to be suspended, reminiscent of steps connecting to upper and lower sections. This piece has been constructed of iron and has a wonderfully aged patina. This whimsical French sculpture would not only be fantastic on a patio, but also a great way to fill an otherwise bare corner in your home with great height, texture and conversational...
