Antique Giant Clam Shell

About the Item

An antique giant clam shell, reclaimed from a garden and previously used as a fountain. Also known by its Latin name Tridacna gigas, this clam is of a large scale. It could be used externally, perhaps as a water feature, or internally as a basin in a home. Alternatively, it would look stunning on display due to its impressive appearance. This item may be subject to export restrictions. Delivery is available to England, Wales, and Scotland only. Tridacna gigas Tridacna gigas is a very decorative giant clam shell with a well-defined shape and good colour. Giant clams inhabit the oceans of the Pacific and Indian Oceans and have a lifespan of over 100 years. The layers, built up over the course of many years make the shells very heavy and difficult to date precisely.
