Art Nouveau Style Bronze Finish Copper Figural Fountain Element
About the Item
A bronze finish copper fountain element with high relief figural decoration in a watery environment. A partly draped mermaid with long flowing hair and swirling drapery, reaches back to a large dolphin. A small child figure emerges from the waters below her right elbow. A putto flies above the mermaid at the right perching on her locks. With a ribbed ground covered with vines, moss and small lizards. The circular top and base pierced for attachment. Nice patina on the mermaid and putto. Numbered and inscribed on the underside of the base (please see photo).
The bronze measures 12” wide by 13” deep by height 30", diameter top 8 1/4"
Condition: The overall condition is very good with only acceptable signs of age including spots of finish loss which reveal the underlying copper. The presentation is exceptional.
