English 19th Century Iron Boot Scraper

About the Item

A sculptural cast iron boot scraper from England, circa 1870, designed to remove mud from shoes and boots before entering a home. This example offers a flat iron panel for scraping the sole, held upright between two posts with the silhouette of very sharp fleur de lys. The base of a large, dense block of Yorkstone (a type of sandstone) shows lovely, organic patina of mossy green over the irregular surface. Please view the detailed images.
