Large Painted Sandstone Architectural Fragment from India

About

A large, authentic painted sandstone fragment from a Hindu temple in south India. More recently re-painted, this circa 1920 stone artifact is hand carved with a lotus flower and leaf design in a pastel palette mixed with darker greens and blues. The piece was likely near the top of the temple that it adorned.
