About the Item

A handsome and most decorative French 19th century Louis XVI st. Fleur de Pêcher, Vert Campan marble and Ormolu pedestal. This exceptional pedestal is raised by an impressive square Fleur de Pêcher base below a square Ormolu band with richly chased acanthus leaves below a beaded trim. The square tapered column displays a raised Vert Campan marble panel with a curved top design. The panel is elegantly decorated with an Ormolu mount of an Urn of Prosperity with blossoming flowers. Above and below the top shelf is a front Ormolu mount of the 'Eternal Flame' and a quiver with arrows tied together with floral branches. The top shelf is decorated by an acanthus leaf band similar to the one at the base.
