About the Item
An impressive and most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Epoque Period Porcelain, Onyx and Ormolu pedestal. This stunning pedestal is raised by thin Ormolu feet below a golden Onyx plinth, upon which rests a white Onyx two-step podium. Raised on the podium is a richly chased pierced Ormolu socle decorated with rosette blocks and Les Oves borders supporting the cobalt blue marbleized Porcelain column. The column is adorned with a spiral wrapped gilt metal berried laurel bands and an Ormolu ring at the center. The top of the Porcelain column supports an Ormolu capital right below the square white Onyx display surface.
