Pair of Early 19th Century Solid Teak Wood Load Bearing Columns

About

Pair of early 19th century solid teak wood columns that supported the roof of a mansion. Made of three parts hand-carved sand stone base, solid teak wood pillar and the carved crown at the top. One shown and the other is identical to the one in the photo. As these columns are partially exposed to the elements to avoid the bottom exposed to the moisture they are raised on a sandstone base. These columns stood the test of time. The pillar is 9" in diameter.
