Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Giltwood and Marble Pedestal Columns

About the Item

An impressive and high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Napoleon III period giltwood and white Carrara marble pedestal columns. Each pedestal is raised by a square base with a stepped design and a most decorative gadroon design with foliate accents. Above a large wrap around tied berried laurel band is the square tapered central support with elegant recessed panels framed with a beaded trim with scrolled movements at each corner connected by superb richly chased swaging blooming flower garlands. At the center are family crests flanked by scrolled Rinceaux designs leading to the curved fluted neck adorned with foliate accents and Fine Les Oves bands. Above are the original white Carrara marble tops with fine stepped mottled borders. Base dimensions: L: 11.75" D: 9.75".
