Ralph Rye Variations Sculptural Plant Stand Signed Postmodern Hand Painted Wood

About the Item

A one-of-a-kind postmodern sculptural plant stand from the studio of furniture designer Ralph Rye – referred to as the “Variations” design. Signed on underside and dated 2002. Square Brazilian wood top with a maple frame. Geometric designs with colorful inlays in purple, blue, red, black, and green. Trimmed in 22k gold. Influence from geometric color furniture concepts by De Stijl designers such as Gerrit Thomas Rietveld. An opportunity to own an original design by an influential modern designer. Dimensions: 34”h x 13.5”d x 13.5”w. In excellent condition. Provenance: From the personal collection of designer Ralph Rye – a multi-talented visionary with a career in city planning, architecture, interior design, lighting, and furniture design. Rye has collaborated with some of the finest furniture companies in America including Dunbar, Nessen, Thonet, Jens Risom, and Baker.
