About the Item
A handmade set of three postmodern nesting tables from the studio of furniture designer Ralph Rye – referred to as the “Kite Tables” design. Signed on underside and dated 2005. Triangular geometric forms made in curly maple wood. The top two-tier tables have a bar design underneath which adds visual dimensions and shapes. A unique modern statement that is sculptural and functional. An opportunity to own an original design by an influential modern designer. A Dimensions: 24”h x 20”w x 17.5”d (large) / 19”h x 20”w x 17.5”d (medium) / 14”h x 19.75”w x 17.5”d (small). In excellent condition. Provenance: From the personal collection of designer Ralph Rye – a multi-talented visionary with a career in city planning, architecture, interior design, lighting, and furniture design. Rye has collaborated with some of the finest furniture companies in America including Dunbar, Nessen, Thonet, Jens Risom, and Baker.
