About the Item

This pedestal-column has elements of Art Deco and Secession and originates from Austria in the early 20th century. It was designed by the renowned architect Hans Günther Reinstein. The column is made of beech and spruce and has undergone meticulous restoration. The original lacquer has been professionally revived, preserving its beauty and authenticity. It has been re-polished with polyutherane piano lacquer by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia according to the original process. This item features Art Nouveau elements. It was often inspired by natural forms such as the sinuous curves of plants and flowers. Art Nouveau is an international style of art that originated in France at the end of the 19th century and therefore is considered the direct predecessor of the European Art Deco style.
