19th Century Chinese Cast Iron Brazier

$780

About

Time has a way of cloaking functional objects in mystery. At least that’s how we feel about this fantastic brazier acquired from a discerning collector who lived in China for decades. Imbued with rusted character, the once finely detailed tripod legs take on an almost animal-like quality, while the bowl blackened with char conjures up the glow of burning incense. We find its bewitching appearance perfect as the centrepiece animating a large outdoor table or as a planter tucked within a shaded garden.
