Japan Big Richly Glazed Hand Thrown Ceramic Handled Pot Shigaraki Kiln

About

Japan, an attractive and large one-of-a-kind hand thrown and richly glazed rope handled pot vessel, mizubachi. Thick and creamily glazed in cream and blue with deep burgundy feather like patterns - special colors that only Japanese artisans master. This would make a lovely indoor decorative vessel or outdoor accent. Also appropriate for indoor or outdoor use for plants, - a fine addition to your garden, deck, sun room, or special place. Crafted from unique and strong Japanese Shigaraki clays which contain ‘choseki’ or white stone which means long life. Quality: Hand thrown, heavy duty, best quality. Dimensions: 18 inches diameter and 16 inches high History: Shigaraki, one of Japan’s six fabled pottery and ceramics centers in Shiga Prefecture, possesses a rich history. In the Kamakura era (1192-1333) water and seed jars were crafted. In Muromachi and Edo periods (1333-1868) its’ tea wares and sake bottles were reknowned. Wood fired in “nobori gama” climbing kilns, their ceramics’ natural ash glazes produce startling textures and patterns. Indeed Shigaraki clays contain ‘choseki’ or white stone which means long life!. Lifetime guarantee of authenticity: All of our Asian works of art come with our Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee. We are members of the North American Japanese Garden Association (NAJGA) specializing for ten years now in old and authentic Japanese stone garden ornaments.
