19th Century Bronze Napoleon Statue on Marble Base

About the Item

19th century Bronze Napoleon statue on footed marble base depicts Napoleon in full battle regalia at the Butte de Lion during the Battle of Waterloo on June 18, 1815. Many feel it to represent his failure to win the pivotal battle, but few recognize how far the man progressed from a lowly soldier to attain the highest military and political station of his country ~ France ~ and almost succeeded a second time before his summary defeat at the hands of the Duke of Wellington. Had Napoleon prevailed surely the geography and history of Europe would have forever been changed, circa 1890s Measures: 14.5 H x 13.5 W x 13.5 D.
