About the Item

This magnificent Chinese antique colored glaze ceramic lion statuary are hand made and hand carved in Museum quality. According to historical books, lions were introduced into Mainland China firstly as tributes to the Emperors. They are symbols of justice in bureaucratic officialdom and loyal guards in front of Emperors or Princes' palaces. They also are the Guardians of Fa (law) in Buddhist realm and stay in front of the temples. The lied people's fear, admiration, expectation and trust. Therefore, people also call them "Foo Dog" means bring you peace and lucky. This beautiful pair of unique Foo Dog is made from color glazed Ceramic which is very rare. They are very big in size and very detailed in carving. Full of patina. This is the once of life time opportunity. You will never find the same beauty in the world. Take look at the pictures, you will fall in love it when you own it. This Foo Dogs comes to two part each, Foo Dog part and Base part for easier transportation. Size: 43in H x 19in W x 22in D each.
