Incredible Bronze Kinetic Sculpture "Interface" by Bill Bedford

$15,900

About

"Interface" is a limited edition, original kinetic bronze abstract modern sculpture by Bill Bedford, which manually turns on a concrete block base to show a huge, partial profile of a face, dominated by a nose, which evolves into the sinuous form of a nude woman in a dramatically crashing wave. The bronze is richly textured and accented with a verde green patina. The bronze turns smoothly on its concrete base at the touch of a hand, rotating 360 degrees. "Interface" is suitable both indoors and outside and would be a magnificent focal point for a garden setting. "Interface" is one of a limited edition of 10 in this size. Sculpture measures 42" high (36" bronze and 8" concrete base) by 18" wide by 18" deep. Concrete block base measures 8" high by 12" wide by 12" deep. This is a smaller version of celebrated and popular monumental outdoor sculptures which are located in the cities of Newport Beach and Brea, California. "Interface" is listed in the Inventories of American Painting and Sculpture at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and has a Smithsonian Registration, #65510072. The outdoor photos (Photos #7 through #11) are of the 10 foot tall, monumental bronze "Interface" located in Newport Beach, California. The details are exactly the same as the one we are selling. The base on the bronze for sale is concrete, however it may be changed to granite or marble if desired. Bronze is incised, "INTERFACE" Bill Bedford x/10 '84. Bill Bedford, (born 1948) is a noted, self-taught American artist, from Orange County, California, known for his large scale, outdoor works of art and the creation of outdoor habitats, including the 28,000 square foot Alaska SeaLife Center in Seaward, Alaska, which is Alaska’s premier public aquarium and Alaska's only permanent marine mammal rehabilitation facility. Bedford has many bronzes in "Art in Public Places" installed in cities throughout the United States. His works may be viewed in private collections, art exhibits and galleries across the Nation.
