About the Item
"Interface" is a limited edition, original kinetic bronze abstract modern sculpture by Bill Bedford, which manually turns on a concrete block base to show a huge, partial profile of a face, dominated by a nose, which evolves into the sinuous form of a nude woman in a dramatically crashing wave. The bronze is richly textured and accented with a verde green patina. The bronze turns smoothly on its concrete base at the touch of a hand, rotating 360 degrees. "Interface" is suitable both indoors and outside and would be a magnificent focal point for a garden setting.
"Interface" is one of a limited edition of 10 in this size. Sculpture measures 42" high (36" bronze and 8" concrete base) by 18" wide by 18" deep. Concrete block base measures 8" high by 12" wide by 12" deep. This is a smaller version of celebrated and popular monumental outdoor sculptures which are located in the cities of Newport Beach and Brea, California. "Interface" is listed in the Inventories of American Painting and Sculpture at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and has a Smithsonian Registration, #65510072. The outdoor photos (Photos #7 through #11) are of the 10 foot tall, monumental bronze "Interface" located in Newport Beach, California. The details are exactly the same as the one we are selling. The base on the bronze for sale is concrete, however it may be changed to granite or marble if desired.
Bronze is incised, "INTERFACE" Bill Bedford x/10 '84.

Very Large Murano Art Glass Cobalt Blue and Green Sommerso Dolphin Sculpture
By Vintage Murano Gallery
Located in Tustin, CA
Very impressive, hand made and mouth blown in Italy, Murano art glass sommerso figure or sculpture of a dolphin in a very vibrant cobalt blue color with fading green accents, clear fin and head. The word "sommerso" means submerged which involves submerging a blown glass article in a crystal clear molten glass of a different color. This technique was started in the 1930's by Carlo Scarpa. Murano sculptures with color are twice as expensive and more sought after than the all clear ones because the technique of doing so can only be done by a very experienced master glass blower. This is a very large and stately art glass sea life sculpture...
