About the Item

WPA Style Cast Stone Garden Flag Bearer Statue of a Handsome Navy Sailor Artistic influences of the American WPA School A rare WPA-style cast stone garden flag bearer statue, depicting a handsome Navy sailor in meticulous detail. This substantial work stands 41 inches high, 16 inches wide, and 12 inches deep. Made of beautifully patinated and weathered cast stone, the statue captures the timeless essence of 1940s Navy fashion, a nod to the artistry of the American WPA school. The sailor stands at attention with his right gloved hand poised and his left arm holding an iron flagpole carrying harness (flag not included). The uniform is rendered with impressive accuracy, featuring the iconic "Dixie Cup" hat, a jumper with a naval collar draped over the back, a neckerchief, bell-bottom trousers, and dress shoes. The statue is raised on a 12-inch square textured rockwork pedestal base, adding to its commanding presence. Designed for outdoor or garden display, this work can be used inside; it's a true testament to the American rugged, patriotic spirit and workmanship of the era. A rare find, this statue celebrates the spirit of American WPA school and military history, embodying the dignity and discipline of Navy service. Ready to place and enjoy. Please Note: The warehouse dolly seen in some photos is not included. Overall Measurements: 41 inches high x 16 inches wide x 12 inches deep, the base is 12 inches square. The sculpture alone measures 38 inches high x 16 inches wide x 8 inches deep
