About the Item
Pair 19th Century Neoclassical Cast Iron Garden Urns are ideal for exterior or interior use. Each is a heavy casting that features a splendid neoclassical design inspired by ancient Greek and Roman architecture, with a wide opening at the top. The sides are finely decorated and include lions heads holding floral garlands that encircle the entire vase. The urn flares out once more with a lower floral collar then transitions into the pediment style base with an additional oversize square bottom that ensures stability. There's a hole at the center to allow proper drainage, so be sure to note that fact if placed atop pedestals or columns. Such artifacts have decorated fine homes for literally thousands of years!
