Hand carved with with subtle detail, these large-scale, bell-shaped marble kraters boast a beautiful captivating weathered patina. Each urn features an everted gadrooned rim and is adorned with a continuous frieze of Bacchanalian standing figures, their forms in a naturalistic landscape with grapes and leaves. These figurative elements are masterfully hand-carved. Resting on ribbed bottoms and featuring different carved medallion portrait handles, the urns are supported by a spreading fluted stem, which in turn is elevated on either a larger or smaller square marble plinth. The urns are set upon different-sized marble plinths. One stands regally on a larger 19-inch square x 6-inch base plinth, elevating the pictured height to a majestic 42.5 inches.
