A Pair of Willy Guhl 'Marmite' Model Planters, Switzerland, c.1950

About the Item

A pair of Mid-Century Modern "Marmite" planters designed by Swiss architect Willy Guhl. This iconic piece of industrial design from the 1960s was produced for Eternit AG in Switzerland and features an innovative approach to materials and form. Made of fibrous cement, it has a distinctive cauldron shape with two handles and is supported by three small feet. Its weather resistant construction makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The weathered, pained patina adds character and charm, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Whether placed in a garden or loggia, this planter serves not only as a functional vessel but also as a decorative focal point.
