About the Item

George W. Maher Prairie School Stained Glass Arched Hollyhock window pair, 1906 George Washington Mayer Pair of window panels forming a rounded arched with stylized hollyhock motif, Morse House, Glencoe, IL, 1905-1906. Wood frames with leaded glass. Rare example of important prairie school architecture ready for display and/or installation. Each window: 61 H x 22 W x 3 D A contemporary of Frank Lloyd Wright, George Washington Maher was a Prairie School architect whose work is known for implementing organic forms to soften the overt geometry of his architecture. By Pairpoint Glassworks
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Pairpoint Glass Co. Poppy flower stained glass table lamp, Vienna shade, 1920. Obverse-painted and enameled glass shade in "Vienna" style, patinated silver plate base. Color and size of floral gives this antique a preternatural freshness and modern feel. Note the sinuous elegance of the base and the gentle manner in which the frame branches up to hold the shade before continuing upward to connect to each blossom. Masterfully designed work. Stamped manufacturer's mark to base 'Pairpoint MFG Co...
