Sax Shaw (1916-2000) Contemporary Religious Stained Glass Window

About the Item

A vibrant stained glass window with a contemporary religious design from the workshops of British stained-glass artist, Sax Shaw. Beautifully made using glass in shades of red, blue and purple, this abstract stained glass window panel centres around a stylised cross with a fish to the bottom right hand corner. It will make a striking feature piece in any home, the colours bringing a room to life when flooded with daylight. Sax Shaw (1916-2000) Yorkshire-born watercolour, tapestry and stained glass artist, Sax Roland Shaw, studied at Huddersfield before moving permanently to Scotland where he attended Edinburgh College of Art. During his career, Shaw became one of Britain’s most influential post-war stained glass artists. Examples of his work can be found in churches across Scotland including St Mary’s in Sidegate, East Lothian and Hyndland Parish Church, Glasgow.
