1950s Atomic Wire Mesh Trash Can Wastebasket Vintage Mid-Century Architect Era

About the Item

Finely expanded metal sheet rolled wastebasket with reinforced lip and bottom tray. This type of metal deformation was invented in England in 1884 by John French Golding. This type of process lightens the metal, and because the steel is flattened, and never completely cut and reconnected, it retain its strength. These attributes made it a favorite among 20th century builders, and the Mid-Century Architects were always looking to bring these engineered products to the surfaces of their designs.
