A magnificent Apache Native American coiled olla jar shaped basket, willow, devil's claw. Early 20th century, Southwestern United States, most impressive large size, primitive hand-woven willow and devil's claw natural fiber construction, exceptionally executed form and design, beautifully aged warm rustic patina. DIMENSIONS: (approx) 14.5" High, 16" Wide, 16" Deep PROVENANCE / ACQUISITION: Acquired from the highly reputable auction house Heritage Auctions, Dallas, Texas. Fine & Decorative Arts Showcase Auction catalog #13189 CONDITION REPORT: A superb museum quality example in great original unrestored antique condition with nicely aged warm rustic moderately distressed patina. Wear consistent with over 100 years of age and indicative of use, including scattered losses, typical fraying, and other age appropriate signs of use. Nothing that detracts from the display or functionality but only adds to the overall authenticity, sophisticated antique character, elegant warmth, and rich historical depth that can only be acquired over very long periods of time
