This is an antique campaign salt cellar. A Chinese, stained pine and brass bound oval cask, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900. Fascinating form and a delightful finish from the late Qing period Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Stained pine presents deep russet hues to the ovoid form Bound with brass strapping to the top for strength Opening lid held securely with a leather and bone sliding clasp over a brass plate Dressed with a pair of drop handles to either side for ease of carriage This is an unusual and appealing antique campaign salt cellar, the oval form and generous proportion being suited to storing a variety of items within. Delivered waxed, polished and ready to serve. Dimensions: Max Width: 45cm (17.75'') Max Depth: 27.5cm (10.75'') Max Height: 27cm (10.75'').
