From France, a pedestal base, urn form twisted wire standing basket with a wide upper rolled rim, circa 1890-1910.
A charming, rustic, hand formed black metal basket with complex wire work.
Amazing as a table-center or on a kitchen countertop, used as originally intended throughout Provençal France for holding fresh eggs, vegetables, and fruit.
These pieces also work beautifully in the garden or garden room for holding potted plants.
Measures: 10.5 inches H x 9.5 inches at the widest point.
Very good antique condition, lovely patina. Slightly off-round due to age and use, as expected.
