About the Item

The Apollineo collection mergs classical and contemporary elements to define a unique aesthetic inspired by Mediterranean architecture and vibes. Sun-blessed pure volumes, shapes marked by time, corroded by water and wind. Their colors are warm as the Southern Sun and their surfaces decorated by hand with bright majolica tiles with geometric patterns create an original play of reflections, lights and shadows, grooves and three-dimensional facets. Starting from a quarry ashlar of Leccese stone, a fossiliferous limestone found only in very few quarries in the Salento area near Lecce, all the products are first machine-carved to obtain straight edges and then finished by hand. Stone and clay, basic elements of the architecture of the Mediterranean basin, give rise to miniature architectures. Apollineo Arena centerpiece in leccese stone and hand-painted majolica is inspired by the amphitheaters and theaters present along all the Mediterranean coast. The MACCHIA decoration of the tiles recalls the typical vegetation of the Mare Nostrum basin (Macchina Mediterranea in Italian) Note: As handmade and crafted products, each pieces present slight differences from one another due to the process adopted. These make each of them unique, with charming details that render it distinctive and unrepeatable. Additional info: The wooden box is included in the price.
