JoverValls continues its work of creating objects that recover the traditions of local craftsmanship.
JoverValls is pleased to present its new collection of basketry, an innovative fusion of materials in which leather, brass, and cane intertwine to bring to life truly unique objects. This collection of baskets pays homage to Asian vases and jars, while also delving into the roots of local craft tradition.
The result of this collaboration between JoverValls and Maria Teresa Miñana, a craftsman of esparto with over two decades dedicated to researching traditions in weaving and basketry of natural materials, is a work that delves into the ancestral techniques of the Valencian region, with documented references dating back to Roman times. Her tireless curiosity has led her to explore techniques in other regions of Spain and even in countries such as Japan, where basketry has an extensive tradition.
Quico and Javier, the creative minds behind JoverValls, have conceived the vision of incorporating basketry objects into their collections. Once again, they seek to connect humble traditions with the world of luxury through their products. In this case, baskets, objects rooted in countless cultures and homes, merge with cowhide and metal to embody the distinctive spirit of the brand and give rise to exclusive home objects.
Each piece in this collection is numbered and unique; none will be identical to another. Customers will have the possibility to select the model and leather color for each basket, which will be made to order. These baskets thus become authentic works of art.
