About the Item
This is a beautiful presentation basket from the Chokwe people of Angloa . Woven tightly from strong rafia strands and diamond motifs only used for high ranking insignia .
The basket would have been used to present and carry the Chiefs wives clothes before Royal occassions. The piece will date from the early 20th century and is in very fine condition.
It is very decorative as well as collectable.
