English Brass Bound Barrel, circa 1880

Of rounded flaring form with five concentric brass bands; with removable lid with molded edge surmounted by a centered brass knob with star-form backplate.

Great quality, condition and patina. The condition of this handcrafted, barrel shaped umbrella or stick stand is right up there with the best. It is made of solid, stained tiger oak only and the curved oak parts that together make the barrel are held together with perfectly riveted and polished brass rings. Thanks to its wonderful shape and good size (it is larger than the few we have sold before) this is the perfect stand for umbrellas, golf clubs etc...
