A lacquered Edwardian style novelty faux book spine waste paper basket English, 20th century Height 22cm, diameter 23cm This quirky and curious piece is a English, early 20th century, Edwardian style lacquered waste paper basket made to give a trompe l'oeil impression of a series of antique books, lined up spine to spine. Made in the style of the works of Kenneth Neame, it gives the impression of a library or book shelf from the side, with each book titled 'Royal Academy Pictures,' with brown and red bands of faux-leather encircling.
