About the Item
A late 19th Century/early 20th Century Picnic Basket in Rattan complete with interior pieces in Tinplate and Porcelain. Manufactured in London. Provenance, from the Swedish noble family Stjernswärd.
This charming and functional rattan picnic basket features several welcome additions to the picnic in the countryside. Its interiors are beautifully lined in green, a good match to the rattan, and include, but are not limited to, several tin boxes, a flask wrapped in rattan, two small spoons, two coffee cups as well as a device used for keeping coffee or tea warm while outdoors. The tin boxes have beautiful patina. Of English origin but from the household of prominent Swedish noble family Stjernswärd, originally from the southern province of Scania (Skåne).
