Mahogany Staircase Section Architectural Model, Late 19th/Early 20th C England. Possibly for Educational Purposes or Architectural Competitions. A beautifully detailed staircase section model for architecture in mahogany (Swietania Mahagoni from the late 19th century or the early 20th century). Possibly made for use in architectural education and showcases a two-way section cut of a staircase solution. The model is in two parts which are joinable in the section of the staircase. The section is drawn through the staircase and showcases a window opening as well. Beautifully slightly vaulted ceilings and detailings in window openings as well as stair steps, complete with nosing. Makes for a perfect piece in a private office or library, sure to start conversations and awe. Wear consistent with age and use.
