Wilhelm Süß for Karlsruher Majolika Art Nouveau Blue Flower Basket Bowl c. 1910

About the Item

Wonderful Art Nouveau large ceramic handled bowl or basket by German artist/designer Wilhelm Süß for Karlsruhe Majolika (Majolica) circa 1910. He was one of their top designers at that time. Later, in the 1960s and 1970s artists such as Walter Bosse, Eva Fritz-Lindner, Karl Heinz Feisst and Peter Robert Keil carried the design torch for Karlsruher Majolika. The detail, as well as the splendid coloring, is simply stunning - the deep cobalt blue of the tiny flowers with yellow centres against the green leaves which wrap around the handle and adorn the edge of the vessel is just beautiful. This would be wonderful used in any style of home - it brings character to any period of a home - not simply Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Post War, Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian or Contemporary home - after all, every room needs a focal point. find exciting ways to incorporate such beautiful pieces and items into your home and bring a little joy into every room!
