Stunning wall plate by Société Ceramique Maestricht. Made in Holland. The plate has a beautiful black & white decor called Wilde Rose with hand painted accents in pink, yellow, green. The Wilde Rose decor was produced between 1856 and 1909. The pottery mark at the back dates between 1890 and 1950, so this plate is from between 1890 and 1909. The Société Céramique (Maastricht: de Zjèrremik) was a pottery factory in the Dutch city of Maastricht, which operated independently from 1863 to 1958 and then for several decades as part of N.V. Sphinx-Céramique and N.V. Koninklijke Sphinx. The company's name lives on in the name of the Céramique district, which arose on the 23-hectare industrial site after most of the factory buildings were demolished.
