1960s Guido Gambone Ceramic Bowl

About

Handmade 1960s Gambone bowl with donkey marking on back, indicating Guido's hand created the piece. Gambone was an modern ceramic artist of the 1950s and 1960s whose work has become a favourite for collectors due to his playful use of shapes and colors on chamotte and stoneware. His style comes from a more experimental era of design where artists created objects to compliment the modern and contemporary styles emerging around them. He helped rebuild the pottery industry after the war.
