Antique Fajalauza Glazed Terracotta Ceramic Lebrillo Bowl, Granada Spain

About the Item

"Lebrillo" bowl in blue, green and ivory glazed terracotta ceramic from Fajalauza Española from the early 20th century, fully elaborated and painted by hand. Fajalauza is a style that originates in the 16th century in the Albaicín neighborhood of Granada, known for its mix of Christian and Andalusian cultures, as can be seen in the Alhambra Palace overlooking the Albaicín. Each one of the pieces is unique since they are completely handmade and added to the Mediterranean air, they give them an indisputable charm as well as captivating. His hand-painted designs are usually flowers, birds and plants, mainly the fruit of the pomegranate that is the symbol of the city of Granada.
