Fajalauza ceramic jug and Lebrillo bowl Spain 60s

About the Item

Beautiful set consisting of a decorative jug and bowl in terracotta ceramic (Lebrillo) glazed in white and green Spanish Fajalauza from the mid-20th century, made and painted by hand, in this case with its characteristic pomegranate flower drawn. Fajalauza is a style that has its origins in the 16th century in the Albaicín neighborhood of Granada, known for its mix of Christian and Andalusian cultures, as can be admired in the Alhambra Palace that overlooks the Albaicín. Each of the pieces is unique since they are completely handmade and added to the Mediterranean air, they give them an indisputable charm as well as captivating. Their hand-painted designs are usually flowers, birds and plants, mainly the fruit of the pomegranate, which is the symbol of the city of Granada. As for its condition, as can be seen in the image made on the spout of the jug, there is an area that was previously glued, although it is hardly noticeable with the naked eye and despite this the set maintains all its character and aesthetics. Measurements: Lebrillo Height 8 cm. Diameter 27 cm. Jug Height 18 cm. Diameter 15 cm.
