Archimede Seguso Geode Bowl in Blue and Green, Murano Italy ca. 1960s A vintage Venetian art glass bowl in the shape of an geode designed by Archimede Seguso for Vetreria Artistica Archimede Seguso ca. 1960s. Thick sommerso glass with green, yellow and a clear glass overlay. An authentic piece of Midcentury Modern Murano art glass of the 1960s. Good condition with some traces of use. For centuries the name Seguso has been associated with glass art from Murano. Archimede Seguso (1909-1999) is the master glassmaker of the family history of the 20th century. In the 1950s Archimede showed all his genius with creations like the 'Merletto' (lacework) the 'Reticello Piume' (feathers) or the 'Polveri' (powdered) series. The cooperation with Tiffany & Co allowed Seguso new opportunities for great collections. In 1989 Archimede Seguso celebrated his 80th birthday in New York with a solo exhibition - the title speaks for itself: The Master of the Masters.
