Archimede Seguso Murano 1952 Green White Merletto Ribbons Italian Art Glass Bowl

About the Item

Beautiful and rare, vintage Murano hand blown green and white ribbons Italian art glass decorative bowl, vide-poche. The bowl is documented to designer Archimede Seguso, circa 1952. Created in the "Merletto" technique, made of scrambled white ribbons. The piece has an "Incalmo" rim, applied over the ribbons. The color is a beautiful green color, in perfect contrast to the white center. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or coffee table. Use it as a catchall, or candy dish. Mid-century era. Collectors item! Measures 5 1/2" long x 5" wide x 2 1/2" high. Literature: Murano Glass - Themes and Variations (1910-1970), by Marc Heiremans, pages 84-88 illustrate technique.
