About the Item
Large and delicate sky blue tinted Swedish midcentury modern textured glass bowl from the Reffla series (reffla is Swedish for grooves) designed by Arthur Percy in 1952. White and light blue opalescent glass constitutes this graceful vessel with swirling relief lines on the exterior while being smooth on the inside. Oval shape with tall slightly outwards organically curved sides on round base. Manufactured by the company Gullaskruf in the small Swedish town of the same name.
Stunning Swedish art glass piece in beautiful vintage condition.
Sweden, 1950s.
In 1978, Gullaskruf Glasbruk was bought by Swedish art glass rival Orrefors who also bought Flygsfors, Kosta Boda and Strombergshyttan among others to later become Orrefors Kosta Boda in 1990, before joining the Royal Scandinavia Group in 1997.
